We are proud to offer you our complete MultiMedia Eco-Blasting package featuring Harmon Distributing’s exclusive H250-m3 Series MultiMedia Eco-Blasting Equipment which will include everything you need to begin Eco-Blasting. The H250-m3 Series MultiMedia Eco-Blasting Pot was four years in design with hundreds of hours of actual field testing.

The H250-m3 Series equipment package does not have hidden cost options. Our MultiMedia Eco-Blasting pot package includes the aftercooler for the compressor air and TWO automatic draining moisture separating equipment. The machine we offer to you is exactly the same MultiMedia Eco-Blasting pot package we ship to off-shore drilling platforms and export to 6 other countries. The Harmon H250-m3 Series blast pot was designed to be small enough to go through doors, to be maneuvered easily on walkways and through tight spaces allowing you to get closer to the worksite and to reduce your having to extend the expensive, heavy blast hose that would be needed to reach those hard to get to work areas. The 4 years of development and those hundreds of hours of operation have proven the Harmon H250-m3 Series design is the only design capable and field proven to economically meter not only ALL blast media types but to be able to use ALL SIZES YOU WANT TO USE. The Harmon H250-m3 Series excels when metering using our non-sparking, extremely effective K2, the MaxxStrip as well as the SofStrip XL sodium bicarbonate Eco-Media.

Each H250-m3 Series pot is handcrafted with pride at our facility in Portland, Oregon.
May we build one for you?

·         Each pressure vessel is individually inspected by an engineer from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), then hydro pressure tested at 240 PSI and is then certified to operate continuously at 180 PSI. Each vessel is then given it's own individual, permanent serial number.

·    Each of those serial numbers is recorded and kept permanently on record by which can then identify each vessel in future years.

·     Certification for European (PED/CE) and Canadian standards are pending.

·     The H250-m3 Series blast pots are mounted on our own specially designed modular 800 LB capacity, pneumatic tired, hand truck for better balance and ease of movement. Other mounting options can be made available as requested.

THE H250-M3 SERIES IS THE LAST BLAST POT YOU WILL EVER NEED TO PURCHASE!

Key Benefits

In order to build a better machine Harmon Distributing addressed the following:

  • The system had to be more portable and light enough to be put into the back of a pick up truck or trailered to a job site.

  • The system had to be versatile. It had to be able to use multiple medias and media particle sizes, without major adjustments or not compromise operator safety.

  •  The system had to solve the problem of moisture control.

  •  The system had to be easy to maintain, be able to work long hours without complete teardown, and with brief instruction, simple enough to use by anyone without the need for extensive training.

  •  The system had to be able to use a variety of source air compressor systems.

  • The system had to be cost effective.

After 4 years of design and field testing, Harmon Distributing answered ALL these requirements with the H250-m3 Series. The H250-m3's are designed to handle the need for all Multi-Media requirements by being able to use... Potassium sulfate, Sodium bicarbonate, Magnesium sulfate, Corncob and ALL STANDARD SAND BLAST MEDIA'S.  This makes the H250-m3 Series the most versatile systems on any job site.

The H250-m3 Series Multi-Media Blast Pots have:

  • 2.5 cubic foot tank
  • 2 bag capacity
  • High carbon boiler plate steel tank and carriage
  • Stainless steel piping and hardware
  • Weather proof electrical housing and wiring conduit
  • Blast pressure as low as 30 PSI!
  • Blast pressure as high as 180 PSI!
  • Metering Valve
    • SELF CLEANING METERING VALVE!
    • Tungsten Carbide wear components
    • Quick, precise media flow adjustment
    • Allows for adjustment to an average usage rate of  3/4 lb. to 1-1/2 lbs. media flow per minute
  • Pots that have not been specifically designed to properly meter light, fine media such as soda or corn cob can use an average of three to four - 50 lb. bags per hour.
    • THERE GOES YOUR PROFIT MARGIN!
  • Pots that have not been specifically designed to properly meter Heavy, Coarse media such as glass, sand and slag cut and wear out "O" rings and standard steel components.
    • THERE GOES YOUR PRODUCTION TIME and YOUR PROFIT MARGIN!
  • Two separate Air pressure adjustment regulators, one moisture separator and an auxiliary air tap are located on the machine
    • This allows you to adjust blast line pressure (PSI) at the pot NOT all the way back at the compressor
  • These Eco-Media blast pots are specifically designed so that you can use up to a #7 (7/16") tip @65 PSI without losing blast efficiency by having a restriction creating an internal pressure loss inside the pot

Soda-Blast.Com is Harmon Distributing's industrial products division. While baking soda and corn cob is the mainstay of the company, this division offers a developed line of products and applicators that deliver either baking soda or corn cob as a parts cleaning medium in metalworking shops.

For most metalworking shops parts cleaning is, well, a pain. It's a non-value added step in the manufacturing process that while, often necessary, gets metalworking businesses into areas in which they have little or no expertise.

If a shop must clean parts, what's the best method? Of course there is no easy answer. It used to be possible to soak parts in a vapor degreaser and accomplish most soil removal requirements. That's no longer feasible because of environmental regulations covering atmospheric discharges and toxic waste disposal.

Options include parts aqueous and semi-aqueous washing units with agitation sometimes generated by ultrasonics. These methods work well for specific materials and soils but lack the kind of general purpose effectiveness that vapor degreasing provides. And, there is usually a waste disposal consideration with these wet processes. Then there are dry cleaning processes. These usually employ a grit which is accelerated to high speed to blast off dirt or other soils attached to workpieces. Glass beads, metal or plastic shot--even peanut shells--are versions of this process.

It's into this category of parts cleaning that SofStrip™ falls. They have successfully used this baking soda blast on applications in aerospace, paint removal for rebuilding and remanufacturing operations and in plant maintenance departments.

Baking soda as a grit blast medium offers several advantages over other solid mediums, according to the company. As each crystal of sodium-bicarbonate strikes the surface of a workpiece it crushes against the surface. When the crystal strikes a workpiece surface, the crystal is destroyed but in the process takes a bit of the soil with it.

Crystals can be sized to provide the necessary cleaning aggressiveness for an application. In part, because the baking soda crystal collapses on contact, removal problems involving getting the media from internal passages or small bores is eliminated. In addition, baking soda is water soluble therefore getting the media out of highly intricate parts is also simplified. They can be rinsed free out of the workpiece if necessary.

As a medium, baking soda is relatively soft. This makes it an effective blast medium for delicate substrates such as aluminum and thin wall sections like cylinder fins or aerospace structures. There is little or no peening action with baking soda blast. Baking soda is inert making its use and disposal less problematic than some other materials.

Soda-Blast.Com offers a full line of blast application equipment to accompany their baking soda media. For job shops with a variety of applications, there is a stand-alone blast cabinet available with interior dimensions up to height by width by length of 60 by 24 by 42 inches. There are systems available for higher volume/lower mix applications as well.

Cleaning workpieces and equipment is a necessity for many shops. Unfortunately there is no universal method effective for all cases. However, baking soda grit blast offers several advantages over other methods, particularly with regard to environmental and disposal considerations. That may make checking into a system for your application a good idea.—
